35 reviews of Cortland Park 83 “I really don’t understand why so many people seem upset about the property. I’ve been here since October 2014 and have been very happy throughout our first fall, winter and spring. Living in an apartment comes with some realities, but coming from out of state, from the mid-Atlantic region, this property is tops for the location and amenities. I was very picky and glad I found this. With a pet, severe allergies, and a desire to see nature and not concrete all around me, things just worked out and I got a great deal.I live in a one bedroom with a balcony, fireplace, laminate hardwood floors, W/D hookups, and driving up to our building feels like I’m really in a park. I love the property; it’s very scenic and they do a great job of keeping up with the landscape. I don’t find it constructive to complain about things that are out of my control, such as other people littering or not properly disposing of their trash in the designated areas. What’s more, many of the “problems” that are here have been addressed. Management is quick about maintenance, and has been very good about following up if we have any kind of problem or request. Plus, the gang in the leasing office are really spectacular. They deal with alot; still, they always say hello and seem positive. Their job can’t be easy, but they make it seem that way…and that counts for a job well done. I’ve also noticed that they are very responsive to negative trends. I remember receiving a few email blasts about scooping your poop and not leaving it on the grounds, for example. I’m also a believer of self-responsibility and beyond that, management isn’t designed to babysit people. If some tenants/people have a problem with the sometimes darkened nature of humans, then they should probably look for a home on a property alone, not an apartment. Yes, people in communities do dumb things that are inconsiderate, but why is that the fault of the property management company? Also, be cognizant of what building you are choosing….every little thing matters. I love my building as well as the unit. You’ve gotta have both things to get the most out of your experience here.”
